Filature Impressionante
2016

Filature Impressionante was a weaving mill in West Flanders which manufactured carpets when it was operational.  The location was full of weaving machines. Once a busy environment for the workers, it produced yarn for export. The racks of yarn bobbins, looms and machinery mere reminders of the manual labour which went on here. Now it is a dust filled factory for curious photographers of the past.

A lot of the machinery has been removed but there was enough still inside to give a glimpse as to what it was like when it was open. Alongside the production floor was the workshop full of old tools and devices that the workers would have used in their tasks.

I'm not sure of its history regarding when it opened and finally closed for good but it was a nice location to explore on our trip across Belgium.
